Welcoming home a world champ

2 June 2023: A huge crowd of whānau, hapū and hāpori gathered to welcome Lani Daniels to Tau Henare Marae in Pipiwai after she claimed the IBF World Heavyweight title in Auckland. Jubilation was in abundance as Lani was escorted through the small grassroots community on her custom-designed 'Chariot of Champions'. Tamariki from Te Horo School, Te Kapehu Whetu and Te Kura Kaupapa o Taumarere eagerly awaited her arrival and were elated when they got to pose with their very own World Champ and her heavyweight belt.
